Interview with an admirer of Nana Mouskouri: Stéphane Robert. He tells us how he discovered this singer and what led him to dedicate a website to her. (TEXT)
It was in 1970, when one of his aunts bought one of her albums. Stéphane was then only five years old. In 1974, he met her for the first time after a concert. Since then, his passion has continued. Later, he did research in the libraries to learn more about her. Nana is Greek and trained as a classical singer. Her distinction and her perfectionism make her an endearing personality. Behind him, we can see part of his collection (more than 1,500 LPs). In 1998, he acquired his first computer. Although at first he was not comfortable, he learned to back up files. In 2005, the time had come to pay tribute to her by launching a website.
Over the years, he had some surprises. In 2012, he met her several times during a tour in Germany. Six years later, she invited him to attend a master class she was giving at McGill University. Stéphane is a teacher and has already made an oral presentation on his passion for Nana to break the ice in a class. Although most did not know her, the students appreciated it. Nana Mouskouri came to Sorel-Tracy three times. Given his young age, Stéphane did not attend. This saddens him, as she was only six blocks from his home. His site is in four languages and he writes all his texts. He has contacts around the world.
