1977 . . . marked ten years of solo tours around the world. After performing in Belgium, in France and in Germany, Nana flew to the United States where she began to ensure a more constant presence. In Canada, her 47 concerts confirmed her popularity as much on the English-speaking side as on the French one. At Place des Arts in Montreal, she performed her new singing recital for her return at the Olympia Theatre in Paris.

Let us focus on the month of September when Nana was back on tour in Quebec and in Ontario. To reset the context of the time, we just have to mention two items that held then the news; Elvis Presley's death and the adoption of Bill 101. In fact, the population was still shocked by the sudden death of the King of Rock 'n' Roll. This is a topic that kept coming up in conversations and widely supplied the press. In order to pay tribute to him and to immortalize his myth, a lot of doubles and imitators appeared. Closer to us, the Parti Québécois of René Lévesque adopted the Charter of the French Language (Bill 101), which recognizes French as the official language of Quebec. This requires a period of adaptation for traders, public agencies and especially for the non-Francophone population.
