Samuel Gesser 1930-2008

On April 1, 2008, the montrealer impresario Samuel Gesser died out at age 78. Through the years, he presented more than 3,000 shows in Canada and he was Nana's tour manager between 1967 and 1992.

His exposure to every genre of music enabled him to develop an unerring taste. In his youth, Samuel Gesser recorded some songs, a thing that few people know about him. He also worked in publicity and in the business of vinyl records. At the beginning of the 1960's, with the idea of making the artists he liked into household names, he became an impresario.

Nana was important for him. She is an artist of which he was proud to have presented to the Canadian audiences. Even after having devoted himself to his company, we could see him close to the box office the day when Nana’s tickets went on sale and he went to greet her after her concerts.

Thank you, Mr Gesser for the culture you promoted and for having brought Nana in our homeland so many times.
