Singing is her vocation and she doesn’t have the courage to announce her farewell tour. The next one will be a reunion tour with Harry Belafonte, the one who introduced her here. Image is important but we have to remain ourselves. During the war she knew what hunger was. Today, she must watch her eating habits. It took twenty-five years before she finally married with her producer. "Gold" and "Fille du soleil" are the two last CDs she just released.

    DUO BENEZRA Time TBC
    (interview with Sonia Benezra)
Nana speaks to us about her honesty with her public, of the happenings which carried her to music, the security gained thanks to love and of her recent remarriage. For her, it is important to love before being loved and to learn from sadnesses. During her life, she travelled a lot and took the opportunities presented to her. She had memorable meetings, one of which was with Quincy Jones. Her songs are chosen according to the emotion they bring to her. Now an ambassador of UNICEF, she pays attention to the fate of women and children and fears political power. Before ending, Nana recalls the moment when she didn’t feel like singing. And she adds there are still styles of music she hasn’t yet sung. She would like to sing rock music.

Excerpts from concerts and clips : "Odos oniron", "Prendre un enfant", "Oh, happy day", "Roses blanches de Corfou", "Ximeroni", "Song for Liberty", "Amazing Grace".

"Nana Swings" is just released on DVD and CD. It is not the first time that Nana sings jazz music. It is with this repertoire that she began her career. For next year, she has a lot of projects planned, one of which is to sing material of composer-songwriters from Quebec. She is currently starting a Christmas tour. As her son just settled in Montreal, she will have the opportunity to come back more often.

    ENTRÉE DES ARTISTES
    (interview with Marie-Claude Lavallée)
The first variety show she saw at the age of eleven years old gave her the taste of the stage.
Singing during the bombings made her forget her fear.
Her singing teacher accepted to give her free lessons.
Her parents were disappointed when she chose popular music instead of classical.
Nana lost weight for her pleasure and to share it with her public. That gave her confidence.
She has been troubled by the war and through her songs, she searches to prove that Love exists.
Nana regrets not having spent more time with her children. But she had the chance to have a nanny that gave the children a lot of Love and stability throughout their entire childhood.
Being in politics has been a good experience. She contributed to the planning and execution of various programs and helped her country to understand Europe. But she found herself at odds with politics. She is rather humanistic. Superstitious, she remarried this year and decided to do it on a 13 because she has a fetish with this number.
In her opinion, one cannot eliminate one’s fears completely. It is necessary to go beyond. Thanks to music, she succeded in making peace with herself and with others.
She learned a lot from her meetings with artists and poets and by visiting countries with poverty and misery as ambassador of UNICEF.
Her current truth is to give hope for the future while singing.
She likes Nana Mouskouri because she sees that she can contribute something.
