Jean-Pierre Ferland 1934-2024

On April 27, 2024, one of our chansonniers, Jean-Pierre Ferland, died at the age of 89. Along with Félix Leclerc, Gilles Vigneault and Robert Charlebois, he was one of those who marked the cultural awakening of Quebec in the 1960s. Since then, Jean-Pierre has impressed us for his creativity, the quality of his compositions and his interpretations. Quebecers are right to consider him a monument of French Song, just like Jacques Brel and Georges Brassens.

Nana loves his repertoire and recognizes herself in his poetry. Moreover, she recorded his signature song "Je reviens chez nous" in seven languages and made it an international success. Nana had the opportunity to sing a duet with him for television and on stage. Each time, it was a pleasure to work with someone who had the gift of writing what many could not express.
