The following month, the series was aired in four episodes on the second channel. With this song, Nana produced her very first video clip; she sings while the painter completes a painting. Between March and June, she featured in six television shows and gave an interview to Télé 7 jours magazine, which devoted a cover to her titled: « Sa plus belle chanson d’amour » (Her most beautiful Love song).

Within a few months, "L’amour en héritage" became her second best selling single in France with 380,000 copies. Same thing in Belgium and Quebec. According to RadioActivity's chart, it was ranked sixth greatest francophone success of 1985 in Quebec. The original soundtrack LP also sold very well.

In October, the song was included in her album "Ma vérité". A sticker was affixed to the cover to notify consumers. This addition to her new opus had the effect of prolonging its success. In Canada, in particular, the album reached gold status (50,000 copies) in two and a half years. Over the years, this essential has been included in most French compilations. It’s one of Nana's most famous Love songs. It’s no wonder that we often hear it at weddings.

IN ITALIAN

In May 1985, the single "Come un'Eredità" came out in Italy. As in French, it is Fauve's song, the painter's beloved daughter, who became his heiress. The following month, Nana traveled to Rome to perform it in the variety program "Domenica in" and the series "La figlia di Mistral" was aired. Two years later, it was rebroadcast. Unusually, there is no soundtrack album. This new recording was met with modest success, but it convinced her record company PolyGram to make her record other songs in Italian.

IN ENGLISH

The English version was released in July 1985 under the title "Only Love". Two months later, it was integrated into her album "Alone". This one, little by little, came out in 23 countries and brought her many gold records. In the fall, Nana had the chance to perform it in her concerts in Canada and the Benelux. As in France, a video clip was produced. We see her singing before a field of flowers.

In January 1986, its success took an important turn. In the United Kingdom, the record company Philips released it as a 45 rpm and maxi 45 rpm, as Carrère had done several months earlier. In this country, Nana has a long-time audience. At that time, those who knew her from her BBC TV shows already made her the biggest albums-seller. This time, she surpassed herself just by a single song: her 45 rpm was ranked at the top of the UK Singles Chart.

With such a momentum, Nana traveled to London to participate in several talk shows and performed it on the TV program "Top of the Tops" before a teenage audience. Nana didn’t want to wait until her next tour before reuniting with her British public. Instead, she decided to give a concert at the London Palladium in the coming weeks. In recent years, her English fans had lost sight of her a little. But then, her record company was determined to start again releasing her new productions.

For many months, the song was played on the radio and ranked number one on the charts of six other countries: Ireland, Holland, Sweden, Finland, South Africa and Brazil. It also made her gain popularity in Asia and Latin America. In several Commonwealth countries, viewers had the opportunity to see her perform at the "Royal Variety Gala" in the presence of the Queen Mother.

In 1991, it was the Americans' turn to discover it thanks to "The very best of", a collection. To ensure its promotion, Nana recorded a capsule for television and radio. This made it her best seller there. In Canada, the CD became gold (50,000 copies) then platinum (100,000 copies). In Denmark, double platinum (100,000 copies). Prior to that, during the 1991-1992 season, she gave 68 sold-out concerts in the USA and Canada, as part of the "Only Love Tour".

IN GERMAN

"Der wilde Wein" was set on the side 2 of a 45 rpm released in November 1985. Here, Love is compared to the wild vine. Like it, Love flourishes and resists. It was rather "Only Love", on side 1, which caught the attention of disc jockeys and which was included in her next German album.

Nana therefore recorded a new version similar to the one in English: "Aber die Liebe bleibt". This one says that everything can change, disappear, but Love remains. It was released in January 1987, at the same time as the soundtrack album. The following month, the TV series "Erben der Liebe" was broadcast. Just before, Nana sang it in several TV programs. It must be said that the timing was right as it preceded her tour through Germany. The song reached the 35th position in the chart. We had to wait five years before it be released on a CD.

IN SPANISH

In Spanish-speaking countries, the series has two different titles. In Argentina, "Cuando pinta el amor" and in Spain, "La hija de Mistral". Although "La dicha del amor" (The happiness of Love), the theme song, appeared in August 1986, it remains little exploited. In Latin America, "Only Love" is used on single and in various albums.
