YVAN DUFRESNE (1939-2016) is one of the pioneers in the production and in the record's promotion in Quebec. He launched the careers of several of our artists, including those of Michel Louvain and Donald Lautrec. From 1972 to 1976, he was manager of French products for London Records, Nana’s distributor of the time. He was the one who presented her two first Gold records in our homeland. In 2011, Mr. Dufresne was honored at the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame for his contribution to Quebec culture since the late 50s.

Journalist and automobile columnist, JACQUES DUVAL (1934-2024) has been a familiar face on Quebec television for five decades. He is especially known as the founder of the book "Le guide de l’auto" (The Auto Guide). This reference almanac published annually since 1967 facilitates consumer choice. Jacques made his beginnings by racing, and won the Quebec championship for car racing several times. In addition to this passion, he was the reference for French-speaking music for a long time, giving his verdict on new record releases, at the time when he interviewed Nana in 1965 for the program "Le coin du disque".

 

 

LARA FABIAN (1970- ) is a Belgian-Italian singer and songwriter who revealed herself at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1988. Like Nana, she represented Luxembourg. Three years later, she moved here and gets her Canadian citizenship. Very quickly, she adapts herself, creates bonds and Quebecers adopt her as one of them. After releasing three very successful albums, it's time for French-speaking Europe to rediscover her. From there, Lara decides to continue her French and English career while singing in Italian, Spanish, German and Portuguese. She did ​​several tours and trips around the world. Lara attended Nana’s farewell concert in Athens in 2008. Moved, she met her, saying that at the age of 14, she was her superstar and she dreamed about meeting her. Since then, Lara covered her hit "Soleil soleil" and she took part in her album of duets.

FRED FARRUGIA (1937- ) was born in Tunisia from Italian parents and studied for seven years at the National Conservatory of Paris before becoming the pianist and the conductor of the biggest names of French music. He was among the first trio that performed in France with Nana and has recorded various discs with her. Since 1977 Fred lives in Quebec. He has played in many TV shows and with various singers. In 1982 he made ​​a surprise visit to Nana, during the recording of the special TV "Superstar". On this occasion, she confessed that she sings better when a great musician like him accompanies her.

JACQUES FAUTEUX (1933-2009) began his career at the end of the 1950’s as a narrator for various documentary films and as news anchor and reporter on television. From 1972 to 1976, he was Lise Payette’s accomplice while cohosting her talk-show "Appelez-moi Lise". There the TV viewers discovered a man who, beyond his discretion, had a developed sense of humour. Thanks to this program he met Nana. In the following decade, we saw him mostly as an actor in some films and TV series.

Graduate and teacher at the Conservatoire de musique de Québec, BRUNO FECTEAU (1959-2011) devoted his career to the Song. In 1994, he became pianist, composer, orchestrator and arranger for Gilles Vigneault. Among other things, he wrote the music of "Entre musique et poésie" that Nana recorded in duet with Vigneault.

Various song contests revealed this chansonnier at the beginning of the 1960’s, in Quebec as in Europe. After several triumphant tours through the province, JEAN-PIERRE FERLAND (1934-2024) returned in the 1980’s with hosting his own television show, all while continuing to compose music. His return on disc in 1992 saw his re-emergence on stage much to the pleasure of his fans, until his farewell concert on January 13, 2007 at the Bell Centre. Nana has recorded "Je reviens chez nous" in 7 languages. Jean-Pierre and his favourite international singer got together to sing it in duet for TV and on stage.
